Hi there. If someone has to appear at court. And the charge is Common Assault? What is sentence/punishment likely to be? I am aware there is a guide line of £5000 fine and or 6 months custodial.
However the assault was on a minor the child was 8 at the time and the person was 38.
The person was drunk and pushed the child causing him to be sat on top of him. Then the man grabbed the child’s head and purposely whacked it off the floor. (however the snow we had saved him form damage) there was only a slight bruise.
This person is a well known drunk and has been in lots of trouble for various things. Apparently he breached his bail and was re-arrested for this.
The only witnesses are 8 and 11 who give evidence via video as needed. And the child himself a witness. I was wondering if anyone knew what the punishment is likely to be? However it is not common assault on a minor he is being charged with just "common assault" Also he is unlikely to pay any fines as he has no money and lots of children. He is just a complete waste of time. Drunk 24/7,

should drugs be legalised in the UK it’s seems to me that drugs have never been easier to get hold of then they are right now and it only seems to harm and cause violence by making them illegal plus with the way the finical system is at the moment would it not provide new form of tax plus country’s like Afghanistan would be easier to deal with as we would control the money they make from the drugs trade also
it would also protect the users by giving them purer drugs (so hopefully something more safe) so less strain on the heath service
also If drugs where legalized I think that if you where going to take some of the harder ones you would have to go and sit down with doctor and talk to him about why you wanted to take the drugs and have dangers explained to you this would remove the kudos that some young people get from taking these drugs
plus by legalizing drugs they would become lot cheaper so this would reduce crime as most crime these days can be traced to drug users or suppliers
I really can not see why we are not doing this RIGHT NOW because what we are doing is NOT working at all
